home based 4Literally millions of people work out of their own homes. Some of them, as mentioned before, are freelancers of some kind. Some of them are independent contractors in certain fields. It goes without saying, there are any number of jobs that can qualify for a home based business.

The important thing is to figure out whether your home based business might require commercial car insurance.

This type of auto insurance is similar to personal auto insurance in many ways. It consists, typically, of basic coverage — coverage that includes collision, comprehensive, liability, and so on. There are many types of commercial coverages which include extras.

The best way to figure out if this type of coverage is a good idea for you is to talk to an agent with your present insurance company. Or, of course, you can always call around and talk to different companies, so that you can get the best deal in addition to getting the right answers.

home based 3You have probably heard the term “commercial car insurance” before, especially if you have your own home based business.

A lot of people do these days. The economy being what it is, an increasing number of people are starting to work out of their own homes, just so they have the opportunity to make some money.

Now, right from the onset, it has to be said that not everyone who works from home will have need of commercial car insurance. For instance, the freelance writer or artist or graphic designer, et cetera, likely does not need this type of insurance.

Commercial car insurance is somewhat specialized. You have to consider the nature of what you do from home while deciding whether or not you need this type of car insurance. We will talk about that some more in the next post.

WinterDrivingNow that we have talked a little bit about preparing your car or truck for the road, the next task is making sure that you pack away an emergency kit.  This is just in case you do get into an accident or even just spin off the road.  Snowy roads are definitely some of the most dangerous roads in the world and even if you have snow tires, that does not mean that you are going to be completely safe.

In your truck, you should make sure to have some extra clothing, just in case, some blankets, some snacks, beverages, matches, candles, flares, a radio, a long jumper cable, windshield scrapers, tow rope and finally a small shovel.

All of these things will insure that whatever happens, you and your family will be safe and can survive anything.

061215_winterDriving_hLarge_12p.hlargeChristmas is just around the corner and if you are one of the many families that are traveling during Christmas, I can tell you there are some things that you need to know, especially if you are driving.  Driving in the winter in general is very difficult and while you might think that you are safe, there are things that you can do to ensure your safety.

For example, you want to make sure that you firstly prepare your car or truck for the season.  Making sure that your windshield wipers are up to speed and also that your car or truck has snow tires are on are some of the first steps that you want to take.

Your tires can save you in the long run and honestly … snow tires are the best if you are in a state that has a lot of snow.

expensive 2It pretty much goes without saying that sports cars are some of the most expensive cars to insure. The premiums can be seriously killer. The engines are large, they are made for fast driving — and car insurance companies are very well aware of that. They know that it means drivers of sports cars have a higher risk for getting tickets — or getting into accidents.

It may surprise you to know that full sized SUVs are also expensive to insure. This is mainly because they are large and, if you happen to get into an accident with one of them, the damage they cause could be exponential. As well, their parts cost a lot to replace.

Luxury vehicles, such as BMWs, Jaguars, Lexus’, and brands of that nature are expensive to insure as well, for the same reasons as SUVs and sports cars.

expensiveMany drivers may not be aware of the fact that some vehicles cost much, much more to insure than others. You need to be aware of this, however, because in addition to being safe, one of the main aims of car insurance is to get the best deal you possibly can. Naturally, if you happen to drive one of the cars that cost a lot to insure, then you will not be getting the greatest deal, not by a long shot.

Now, if you are financially well off, this may not matter. However, the vehicle that you drive is often something of a status symbol, so even if you cannot really afford, say, a BMW, a Jaguar, or a Corvette, many people do save up to be able to afford their dream car, never realizing that even after they can afford it, the insurance premiums can do some major damage to their bank account.

car-service-car-repairs_1

Now that we have talked about the oil as well as the brakes, let’s go ahead and move onto some of the other things that you may have to think about switching and getting repaired.  Firstly, your air conditioning, as that is something that generally goes as the car gets older.  Next, the electrical system, as that is certainly something that needs to be fixed as the car ages.

In general, there are many different auto repairs that you can make throughout the life of your car to prolong the life of your car but you want to make sure that even though you are sinking money into your car … it does not become a money pit.  That is when what you are putting into it is not worth the car’s life.

This is why having your car serviced is definitely the best course of action, as it will definitely prolong the life of your car in the end!
